Ryan Curtis

Bio

Ryan Curtis received his B.F.A. from SUNY Purchase in 2001.  He shows his work at galleries in Ithaca, Syracuse and Trumansburg, sells his work at the Ithaca Sunday farmers market, and does freelance graphic design for musicians and writers.  He was also commissioned to do street art at the 2007 IthacaFest and to execute a community mural for Ithaca in 2008.  He generally works from photographs, which he transfers to wood, canvas or paper and enhances with environmentally-friendly paints.

Statement

Any artist's work is a reflection of who they are – their experiences and craft. And thank goodness for many artists – for one artist alone could not channel all of the genius that is the unfolding universe! For me to make work that is satisfying to me - I try to see the deeper picture that is the present – and I reach!
