This is an introductory course in relief color printmaking using only one wood block for printing multiple colors. We will start with a discussion about relief printmaking, and white and black line approaches, then begin to develop images on your blocks. You will learn how to handle wood carving tools and what carving techniques help prevent splintering and undercutting. We will aim to print in an edition of 10 with at least three colors. The instructor recommends purchasing a set of three Flexcut tools for this class. Please call the Ink Shop for further information.
