Miri Amihai studied printmaking & painting at Cornell and in Ireland & Israel.  She is one of the Shop's founders.

Scott Bennett earned a BFA in painting from Syracuse University.  A technical consultant with Golden Artist Colors, he has shown his work nationally and internationally.  Scott was a visiting artist at SUNY Oswego and Tokyo Art University.   A full-time artist, he makes painterly representational images. Neil Berger holds an MFA in painting from the Boston University, a BA in Cognitive Science and Studio Art from Stanford University, and is a John Simon Guggenheim recipient in painting for 2004. See his website at www.neilberger.com/

Johanna Boga is a well-established painter and printmaker from Iceland.  She has traveled and exhibited worldwide.

Stan Bowman, Professor Emeritus from Cornell, creates computer animation and consults on web-site design and is an exhibiting member of State of the Art Gallery.  See his website www.stanbowman.com/

Gina Campbell earned a doctorate in English and is both a ceramist and printmaker.  She taught at Cornell University and also participated in the Ink Shop's Dingbat Portfolio Project.  

Joe Cerretani had been an avid print collector for over 20 years, but he passed away in July 2009.  His collection of over 700 prints include prints by Kaethe Kollwitz,  and many WPA artists, as well as contemporary printmakers from around the world. 

Jeff deCastro is a nationally recognized community based public artist. He has received grants from the Mid Atlantic Foundation for the Arts and New England Foundation for the Arts.  His work “Textscapes” engaged poets, artists and community members in a monumental text-based work exhibited at the Tompkins County Public Library.

Keren Cohen is a graphic designer for print and web media.  She received her Bachelor’s in Design from the Academy of Art and Design, Jerusalem in 2000.

Tara Cooper is a member of Open Studio Toronto. She graduated with an MFA at Cornell University. She has taught numerous workshops in Ontario and participated in many group and solo exhibitions.

Samantha Couture is a 2000 MFA graduate of Cornell in printmaking and was our first Kahn Family Fellow. She currently operates Walk the Dog Studio in Schenectady, NY.

Jamie Davis was the Ink Shop's 2008 - 2009 Kahn Family Fellow.  She graduated from Pratt Institute of Fine Art with a BFA in printmaking, and finished her Kahn Family Fellowship for 2008-2009 with a one-person exhibit entitled Sneak and Destroy at The Ink Shop Gallery.

Margot Ecke holds a BFA from Cornell University and a MFA from Rhode Island School of Design.  She earned a Printer’s Certificate from Tamarind Institute and a Certificate of Bookbinding from North Bennet Street School.  She was a Victor Hammer Fellow  in Book Arts at Wells College. She currently teaches in North Carolina.

Gloria Escobar is retired from teaching art and printmaking at Hartwick College.  She also has an MFA in printmaking from Syracuse University,  and participated  in The Ink Shop’s Dingbat Portfolio project.

Debra Fisher earned an MFA from Ohio State University and teaches printmaking at SUNY College at Brockport. Her work has been widely exhibited and included in collections around the world.  

Rhea Garen has been working with photographic imagery for fifteen years. She studied both traditional and alternative photographic processes at Cornell University and at the University of Illinois.

Roni Gross is a graphic designer and book artist who has been producing a limited edition book/object for Valentine’s Day and Halloween for the past 12 years.  Her work is in the permanent collections of the New York Public Library, The National Design Museum, the Brooklyn Museum and the Sackner Archive among others.

Takuji Hamanaka is a printmaker and painter.  He apprenticed at Adachi Studio in Tokyo where he learned traditional woodblock printing.  Takuji also teaches classes at Manhattan Graphic Center, Center for Book Arts, and Pyramid Atlantic, among others.

Charles Heasley is a Professor of Printmaking at SUNY Cortland.  He has received numerous grants and awards, notably from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Tamarind Lithography Institute.  He often works in photogravure.

Bill Hosterman is an Assistant Professor of Art at Grand Valley State University in Allendale, MI.  Bill received his undergraduate degree in printmaking from Penn State University and his graduate degree in printmaking from Indiana University in Bloomington.  In 1995 Bill went to South Africa on a Fulbright scholarship to study printmaking where, at The Artists’ Press Printshop in Johannesburg, Bill was introduced to a technique called drypoint lithography.  He has also studied plate lithography at Tamarind Institute in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Keith Howard teaches printmaking at Rochester Institute of Technology.  He is world-renowned for his innovative approach to non-toxic printmaking, and authored “Non-Toxic Intaglio.”

Patricia Hunsinger graduated from Ohio University with an MFA in Printmaking in 2002.  During her Masters' training at Ohio she printed as master printer for Harvey Breverman, Sue Coe and Sam Gilliam. Recently she put together an International Printmaking Portfolio of women's views of the 21st century that has been widely exhibited throughout the United States, Europe and Australia. Patricia currently teaches at Cazenovia College.

Yukari Hayashida is a bookbinder and printer.  She currently works in the Book Conservation Department at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and operates Puffin Press in Manhattan, which produces artists’ books and handmade books and cards.  A native of Japan, she studied in Osaka.

Peter Jogo  is a Master Printer and has a nationally acclaimed reputation for his pastels and mezzotints.  A visiting artist and lecturer at numerous colleges and universities, Peter is represented by Davidson Galleries in Seattle, Stone & Press Gallery in New Orleans and Gallery 71 in New York City,

Irina Kassobova holds an MFA from the University of Veliko Turnovo, Bulgaria.   She has exhibited mainly in Bulgaria and the United States and currently is working on a project for an Exchange exhibition between Bulgarian and American artists. From 1997 - 1999 Irina received an Open Society Institute Scholarship for Great Academic Achievements from the Soros Foundation.

Christopher Kelly holds a BA in Studio Art from SUNY Stony Brook and MA in Communication Arts/Computer Graphics from New York Institute of Technology.  He has been working professionally as a Graphic Designer for 10 years and designed for Jon Reis Photo + Design, and currently works at Cornell University.

Kumi Korf is an internationally known artist and architect.  She received a BA in Architecture from Tokyo University of Fine Arts, and MFA from Cornell University.  She teaches book workshops at the Center for Book Arts in NYC, San Francisco Center for the Book, Women’s Studio Workshop, Pyramid Atlantic, and Connecticut Graphics Art Center.  She published a triptych of prints, “Letters to the Planet,” with our own Olive Branch Press, and serves on our Artist Advisory Board. Sophia Kramer is a bookbinder, printmaker, and  conservator. She holds a BFA from Pratt  Institute in Printmaking and Book Arts, and a  MA from Camberwell College in Book Conservation. She has taught workshops on the rebacking of books at Shepards Bookbinders, where she worked for four years as a book conservator.

Barbara Kretzmann is a master binder, starting out as an apprentice in the Guild of Book Workers in 1976.  Barbara runs The Cutleaf Bindery, and has worked in repair and conservation of rare volumes at Cornell University, and designs and makes fine bindings.  She also taught at Wells College for several years. 

Jennifer Krzyzanowski received her BA from SUNY Brockport where she studied with Debra Fisher.

Karen Kucharski earned an MFA from Syracuse University and has taught at Ithaca College and Cornell University.  She is also a tango dancer.

Joseph Lamarre obtained his BFA in Communication Design from Metropolitan State College of Denver. His letterpress work has been published several times since he was first introduced to the craft back in the late nineties by Tom Parson (Now It’s Up To You Publications) and Rick Griffith (MATTER, a Denver design studio). Presently, Joe divides his design time between his collaborative work with ART & ANTHROPOLOGY and his own letterpress studio, SAID Press.

Christine Murray earned a BFA in printmaking and painting from Cornell University.  She has studied in Rome, Italy, participated in many local exhibitions.

Elise Nicol is a graduate of the Maryland Institute College of Art.  She has been working with Photoshop for nearly 15 years and is the owner of Elise Nicol Design, a web design and digital imaging company.  She is an award-winning printmaker and photographer. She currently works at Ithaca College.

Greg Page trained at the Tamarind Institute in New Mexico, and currently is a professor of printmaking at Cornell University.  He is one of the founding members of the shop and is a current member of our Board of Directors, and chairs the Artist's Advisory Committee.

Joel Peck has extensive experience in traditional and non-traditional printmaking processes.  After earning an MFA in 2001 from the University of Iowa, Joel began teaching drawing and printmaking at Cornell University.  His work brings together not only ideas about family relationships, but also the idea of the collection, a process of acquisition and exchange, involving the manipulation of context and the creation of a new context. 

Gillian Pederson-Krag went to the Rhode Island School of Design as an undergraduate and received  an MFA from Cornell University.  She taught at Cornell for many years, and also at Queens,  Dartmouth, and Hobart William Smith Colleges.  Her work is represented in the Library of Congress Print Collection, New York Public Library Collection, Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute, the Memorial Art Gallery in Rochester, among others.  She is represented by Hackett Freedmman Gallery in San Francisco, CA.  

Dave Petrelli is a painter and writer who has organized various community art shows in Ithaca.  Dave exhibited work at the ABC Cafe, Stella’s, WOW Net, and the Farm Street Co-op.

Katie Platte received a BFA in printmaking from Grand Valley State University in Allendale, MI.  There she focused mostly on etchings and collagraphs that were inspired by her love of literature and museums.  She spent 6 months as an intern at Women’s Studio Workshop in Rosendale, NY.  Her work focuses on the narratives created through the display of objects in homes, museums and stores. 

Tracie Pouliot has a BFA from Pratt Institute in New York City with a specialty in bookmaking and etching.  She has exhibited in Brooklyn and Manhattan.

Minna Resnick  lives and maintains a lithographic studio in Ithaca.  Her drawings and prints are shown nationally and internationally and are in numerous museum collections, both in the US and abroad.  She is currently teaching at Ithaca College. See her website at www.minnaresnick.com

Hawkeye Richardson started a company that designed and marketed database marketing software/hardware systems for banks, catalogue retailers, cell phone vendors, and other companies with large customer databases. Hawkeye became a nationally recognized expert, consultant and speaker on database marketing systems and the use of microcomputers for improving productivity in the workplace.

Maddy Rosenberg received her BFA from Cornell University and her MFA from Bard College. She works in several media: printmaking, artists' books, drawing, oil painting, and installation. She divides her time between New York City and Europe while maintaining an extensive international exhibition and freelance curatorial career. Rosenberg has received numerous awards and has work in public collections throughout the US and Europe.

Astra Rooney earned a BA in Visual Arts from Rutgers University.  She has worked in professional print and papermaking studios such as the RCIPP (Rutgers Center for Innovative Print and Paper) and the Dieu Donne Papermill in NYC. She has participated in many collaborative art projects and performances and believes in using a multimedia approach to expand and develop creative language.

Nicholas Ruth, Assistant Professor of Art at Hobart and William Smith Colleges, was initially drawn to art making as a photographer.  He has been making paintings and prints for 20 years, and feels that the methods and materials of printmaking have been central to the evolution of his interests and ideas.

Ella Sadza-Loinaz received her MFA from The Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk, Poland and also studied at Szermentowski School of Fine Arts in Kielce, Poland. Ella was chosen as a 2006-2007 Kahn Family Fellow.

Jennifer Savran studied bookbinding, restoration, printmaking and papermaking at the Center for Book Arts in NYC.  She held our Kahn Family Fellowship in 2003 and helped produce and bind Buzz Spector’s book Between the Sheets for Olive Branch Press.  Her first published book, “Hysteria” was released in the Fall 2003.

Laurie Snyder, an Ithaca native, is professor of photography at the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, Maryland. She has worked extensively with cyanotype and artist’s books. She exhibited cyanotypes and artist’s books at the Ink Shop in the Fall of 2005.

Carol Schwartzott holds a BS in Art Education and a MS in Anthropology/Fine Art. Her work is represented in many private and public collections including the Smithsonian, The National Gallery of Art, and The National Museum of  Women In The Arts.

Joe Sepe is the founder and owner of 17-year-old Pioneer Press in Lodi.  Printing has been in his family for at least three generations. 

Alan Singer is a painter, printmaker, illustrator, graphic designer and writer.  An experienced curator and lecturer with more than fifteen years of teaching, Alan is a Professor in the School of Art’s College of Imaging Arts and Sciences at Rochester Institute of Technology.  Alan has participated in many solo and group exhibitions.  His published writing includes a recent book, museum catalogs and numerous articles in art magazines.

Buzz Spector was Chair of the Art Department of Cornell University.  His book Between the Sheets was produced  by The Ink Shop/Olive Branch Press in 2003.  Buzz Spector is an internationally acclaimed artist, whose published artists’ books are in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Getty Museum in California.  He currently teaches at St. Louis University in Missouri.

Alex Sullivan is a BFA candidate at SUNY Buffalo. He assisted various local artist printmakers with editioning and was an Ink Shop intern in 2001.

Jae Sullivan is an artist and interior designer.  Her work ombines interests in painting and mixed media collage.  Jae earned a BA degree in Studio Arts/Painting from Empire State College and an MS degree in Interior Design/Architectural Studies from the University of Massachusetts/Amherst.  She was The Ink Shop's 2006-2006 Kahn Family Fellow.

Sylvia Taylor leads a double life dividing her time between Ithaca and Cork, Ireland. She is a relief printmaker primarily, but loves to combine prints with clay, stitchery and installation work.

Caleb Russell Thomas is a local artist and the Ink Shop’s 2007-2008 HPK Fellow. His series Balancing On Rooftops acts as a metaphor for climbing out of daily routine.

Mike Townsend is the Senior Technical Support Advisor for Golden Artist Colors.  He has worked in the Quality Control Laboratory and in Research & Development, where he helped to develop new paints, gel mediums and grounds for the professional artist. Townsend received his BA Degree in Studio Arts from Mansfield University of Pennsylvania, and is also a fine artist.  Before his employment at GOLDEN, Mr. Townsend worked as a silk-screener and signage technician at PAC Signs in Binghamton, NY.

Treacy Ziegler studied printmaking for four years at Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia and received her MA in printmaking at the University of Pennsylvania.  Her work is represented by many galleries on the east coast and in Canada.

Susan Weisend teaches printmaking at Ithaca College. She is an award winning artist who has exhibited widely. Susan sits on The Ink Shop's Artist's Advisory Committee.
