What is a Print? An Introduction to Printmaking
Pamela Drix
Wednesdays March 10, 17, 24
6 - 9 pm
$165 non-associates / $140 associates (plus $35 for materials)
We will begin the workshop with an overview of the five printmaking "families:" relief, intaglio, planographic, screenprinting, and digital. You will see prints done in each of these processes, and the tools that are used to achieve different kinds of marks. We will talk a bit about the history of prints, and then visit the Johnson Art Museum's print collection to see other examples. The workshop will conclude with making two small prints -a dry point and a gum transfer print. All beginners and art enthusiasts are welcome.
